Fixtures 09/08 Match Report
Fixtures 09/08 match report now posted read about the 2008 Camelboks latest conquest, keyed by "The Kuttabul Crusader".

Just a quick update about this weekend, training as per usual Friday night at Lions 6pm.

Home game times on the weekend are as follows:
  • 2pm Old Boys
  • 2:45pm Reggies
  • 4:15pm Walla-Rugby
  • 4:30pm A Grade

See the flyer for all the details.

We have a fair bit to organise between now and kick-off and will advice on Friday after training what we need from the players for the day to go off.

We will hopefully knock some of it off on Friday (remove soccer posts, move rugby post forward, mow and line-mark field, get grog and food) but will need to do a fair bit Saturday morning as well. We want to get as many blokes as possible to the ground at 8am to set tents up, barricades etc. Shouldn't take long if we get plenty of blokes down to help.

We will set up a roster to man the gate, bar, canteen and carparking. Each of the three teams will take turns at running the show and it will be along the lines of 1:30pm - 3pm A Grade shift, 3pm - 4:30pm Old Boys shift and 4:30pm - 6pm Reserve Grade shift.

The personal sponsors have been rolling in so keep them coming. We hope to show the sponsors what a great club they are investing their dough in and hopefully get a few of these companies as major sponsors next season. Get them in as soon as so we can finalise the program for printing.

Remember that we only have one shot at this so we need everyone on the same page to be able to put on a good day.

Bring any large eskies that you have to training Friday night.

Bart has picked up the doubles and we will start selling them at training tomorrow night. $2 or 3 for $5 for the first try scorers in each team for a $100 collect. On the very real chance that Slade Point don't score than their hooker becomes the default try scorer.

Rumour has it that an ex-Wallaby will be lacing the boots up for the Old Boys. Pity he wasn't able to earn selection in his usual position at 5/8, the Boks must have a gun fly-half?

The 27th Boks Tour - Sydney 2008
Stayed tuned to the Boks Tour

Coming Soon !!!

The 27th Boks Tour - Sydney 2008
On the eve of the Camelboks 27 th Tour, the Boks are off to Sydney for another Kuttabul vs Kuttabul challenge. The first wave of players departing Mackay on Thursday 28, with the remainder flying out the following morning. The game is scheduled for Friday afternoon at 1700 hrs EDST at a venue only a stones throw away from the Randwick Racecourse.
New to Camelbok tradition a protocol of complete moderation and abstinence, has been agreed to and will be obeserved by all players, as Spence says 'No Shortcuts'.
Accomodation will be at the former premises of the Bondi Beach Road Hotel, now a Methodist hostel.
Post Match: The boys have tee'd up a small function for a few hours after the game for us to have a couple of lemonades with the lads. This will be in full No. 1's for all who have them. We will most likely head back to our hostel after the function so anyone who wants to get into their disco gear (Probably safer) for late night activities will be able to do it then.
Saturday: The guys (Navy Boys) are currently trying to tee up a bit of a tour of the HMAS Kuttabul base, details of this will follow and numbers confirmed at the post game function Friday night.
Sunday: Damo has the tickets for everyone who has booked them for the cricket. A mystery tour guide has been confirmed for the day and dress will be FULL No.1's!
The 27th Boks Tour - Sydney 2008
The tour to Sydney is looming large. We will be looking to maintain our 100% record against the Navy when we finally clash again later this month. The match will be played at 5pm on Friday 29th February. HMAS Kuttabul will host us after the match and a re-enactment of the Camelboks first ever run-at-me will be performed. There will be an skills session held on Saturday in the bookies ring at Royal Randwick followed by an extended endurance session at the Cross. Sunday will see the tour continue at the SCG where Australia will flog India in the first ODI final. Accommodation has been booked at Bondi and we have plenty of rooms available.

"Daniel "shut your mouth" Marilous is off to NSW in search of climbing the corporate ladder of the fertilizer industry. If that doesn't work out, word has it that a naked modelling career may be on the cards after his 'pool session' shot was picked up by a big name in the industry. It seems he has really left his 'red' mark on the club with even Coach Spence looking to recruit more ginga's for this season. Best of luck, with both career options... "
