Just a quick update about this weekend, training as per usual Friday night at Lions 6pm.
Home game times on the weekend are as follows:
- 2pm Old Boys
- 2:45pm Reggies
- 4:15pm Walla-Rugby
- 4:30pm A Grade
See the flyer for all the details.
We have a fair bit to organise between now and kick-off and will advice on Friday after training what we need from the players for the day to go off.
We will hopefully knock some of it off on Friday (remove soccer posts, move rugby post forward, mow and line-mark field, get grog and food) but will need to do a fair bit Saturday morning as well. We want to get as many blokes as possible to the ground at 8am to set tents up, barricades etc. Shouldn't take long if we get plenty of blokes down to help.
We will set up a roster to man the gate, bar, canteen and carparking. Each of the three teams will take turns at running the show and it will be along the lines of 1:30pm - 3pm A Grade shift, 3pm - 4:30pm Old Boys shift and 4:30pm - 6pm Reserve Grade shift.
The personal sponsors have been rolling in so keep them coming. We hope to show the sponsors what a great club they are investing their dough in and hopefully get a few of these companies as major sponsors next season. Get them in as soon as so we can finalise the program for printing.
Remember that we only have one shot at this so we need everyone on the same page to be able to put on a good day.
Bring any large eskies that you have to training Friday night.
Bart has picked up the doubles and we will start selling them at training tomorrow night. $2 or 3 for $5 for the first try scorers in each team for a $100 collect. On the very real chance that Slade Point don't score than their hooker becomes the default try scorer.
Rumour has it that an ex-Wallaby will be lacing the boots up for the Old Boys. Pity he wasn't able to earn selection in his usual position at 5/8, the Boks must have a gun fly-half?
